Recently, I was speaking with a coworker who told me that when he goes to the voting booth, and looks at the selection of names for a particular office he often wonders, "What are these people really about?" Have you ever felt this way? I know I have. In every election year we are bombarded with campaign commercials and signs, but we rarely learn anything of value about the candidates. Instead, the candidates spend most of their time trying to discredit their opponents by slinging mud and hoping some of it sticks. We seldom ever really get to know what the candidates really stand for because campaign managers and political handlers filter so much of the information distributed to the public. It is not until after the election that we actually find out where most candidates truly stand, and perhaps more importantly, whom they stand with on various issues.
As a citizen, I am like you, frustrated with being ignored by our elected officials, and tired of feeling as though I am not being adequately represented. Most of all, I am discouraged that each time I go to the election booth I am often only offered two equally bad choices. We live in the freest nation on earth yet in the typical federal election our choices are a Democrat career politician or a Republican career politician. Despite the rhetoric and discussion on TV, there is little, if any, difference between the two.
Personally, I have had enough! This is why I have decided to become a candidate for Louisiana's Third Congressional District. I hope that you feel as I do that we need someone who is not a career-minded politician, but rather someone who is from the working class to represent our working class district.
Thank you for taking the time to visit this website. I encourage you to look at my positions on the issues, and I would love to hear your feedback on ideas you may have. I refuse to accept the notion that our nation has already been lost. I believe that once we rid our government of self-serving career politicians we can redirect our nation towards prosperity. I humbly ask that you consider supporting me to be your voice in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Sincerely,
